Yuri Gohen plays original and traditional folks music. Yuri has been performing as a folk singer and archivist for 20 years. He believes strongly in the importance of traditional folk song and its preservation. Inspired by collections like the Harry Smith Anthology and the many Lomax recordings, Yuri aims to showcase the relevance of folk song to the modern world; both as an invaluable record of our shared history and as the fluid wellspring from which our shared present flows. Yuri Gohen will be hollering John Henry from the mountain until the day he dies.
