Halcyon Listening Room is the third full-length album from pianist, composer, and producer Julian Hartwell, featuring an epic collaboration with sound healer Kirk “Evolvlove” Jones. A project almost five years in the making, the album synergistically fuses Hartwell’s piano and production skills with Evolvlove’s vast arsenal of sonic healing tools such as crystal and bronze bowls, gongs, flutes, percussion, tuning forks, and more. Together they have crafted a unique musical experience which might best be described, without exaggeration, as a “metaphysical, hyper-dimensional sonic immersion,” where the intention is to guide the listener through various states of consciousness and ultimately, encourage a meditative healing experience. The album also features various nature ambiences recorded by the artists themselves as well as subtle vocal layering, intentfully placed.

Far-and-above the typical traditional meditation or new-age genre that can just as easily become background music, the sound journey of Halcyon Listening Room demands deep listening and active participation, even when producing states of deep relaxation.
