Homosex?
After checking into the hotel, Bennett and I decide to look around Katni. Bennett wants to buy a bag for all the stuff he has accumulated. Approaching the marketplace, an Indian man is walking alongside Bennett asking questions in broken English. As Bennett walks away into a store, the man begins talking to me. After a few questions about the rickshaw run, the man turns to take his leave. Suddenly, he looks at me and mutters Homosex.
I am confused. I can’t make any sense out of his muttered statement. Is it a question, offer, or confused English? He takes his leave as I stare at him blankly.
Later, I tell Bennett of this strange encounter and I ask him what the hell he was negotiating with the Indian guy earlier on.
